An Expanded Functions Dental Assistant (EFDA) is a certified dental assistant who has acquired additional schooling and training in the dental field. EFDAs continue their education in order to obtain the skills and licensure that allows them to perform procedures that you might usually associate with ones that your dentist would do. EFDAs will perform clinical tasks, such as: place fillings, polish teeth, place sealants, fabricate temporary crowns and bridges, and so much more.
